Please meet our lovely girl Monika.
Monika is a very sweet, loving and affectionate 3 year old girl who adores her cuddles and a tasty meal! She is a Labrador cross of medium size and is a very pretty girl who loves to be around people and to be made a fuss of. Although we are unsure whether she has ever lived with a cat before she was not at all reactive when introduced to a cat in a home recently, so this may be possible.
Monika is very good with other dogs and could easily be homed with another suitable resident doggy companion. She is currently in foster in a multi-dog household where she gets on well with them all, big and small.
Monika would love to find her very own home since she has had a hard life. Having spent time on the streets as a stray in Romania and incarceration in a terrifying shelter, she will need a secure garden with fences no lower than 6 feet to ensure that she cannot escape during the early stage of her adoption. However, being a sensitive and affectionate dog and very people orientated, it will not be long before she settles down and takes to a comfortable life like a fish to the water and we are just being cautious. Monika is doing really well in her foster home and just needs that break in life where someone will take her home and shower her with all the love she deserves. As we have no background history on Monika, as with all stray dogs, we will not home her with very young children. Older respectful children will be fine.
We would just like to point out that Monika has a slight deformity on one of her front paws but this is not obvious to the eye or causing her any discomfort and does not need any medical attention. As with a lot of street dogs, unfortunately, they get caught up in a few road traffic accidents which may be the reason behind this.
Monika is spayed, vaccinated and micro-chipped and owns her own pet passport.
She is currently in foster in North London near M25 J25. For home checking purpose we favour enquiries from prospective adopters who reside in London and neighbouring counties although we will consider enquiries from further afield for the right home.
Monika is currently being fed on Canine Choice, an excellent food. They are currently sponsoring all of Lea Valley Dog Rescue dogs with their food and will give a free bag to whoever adopts Monika, along with a 30% discount off their next order.
If you feel that you could offer our lovely Monika her forever home, please submit an adoption enquiry form available from our website. In addition you can also call Yasmina on 0782 655 7667 if you have any questions.
