Please meet Charlie.
Charlie is a very happy and handsome, loving and affectionate 18 month old male French Bull Dog cross. We were told that he was a cross Pug, but we feel that it is more a Staffordshire Bull Terrier rather than Pug. However he is the size of a French Bull Dog, just not so rounded on the tummy and he has a tail!
Charlie has a great character and will talk to you to let you know he wants something or just attention and a fus made of him. Otherwise he is happy to sleep in a warm sunny area which he loves and will choose over anything else.
Charlie is full of beans and loves to go out on walks. He loves to meet and greet other dogs and be part of a mixture of friends he can enjoy. Charlie has not had any basic command training except for the word “sit” which he will do for a treat. Therefore basic command training is a must and part of this is to walk nicely on his lead as he does pull quite hard and this is being worked on. Charlie is happy to be left on his own for a short while when you go shopping and he sleeps well at night. He does use a crate as we were told he can have a tendency to chew, but think this was more boredom as he has not done anything yet!
Charlie is up for adoption as his previous owners had to go into rented accommodation and could not take Charlie with them. Charlie is looking for an active family home where someone is around for some of the day as he is still young. Older children would be more suitable for Charlie as he can be quite boisterous. Can be homed with another suitable resident dog.
Charlie is responding well to training and is currently walked on a long training line, not an extendable lead, where he can get more useful exercise and training commands put in place on a shorter lead where control over him is better. (A harness was designed for a dog to pull into, which has the undesired effect you want!) More information can be given when talking to his foster carer.
Charlie is vaccinated, micro-chipped and will be neutered prior to adoption.
Charlie is currently in foster in Roydon, Essex. We are looking to home him in or around this area or neighbouring counties as a home check will be done, although further afield may be possible for the right home.
If you feel you can offer Charlie a wonderful forever home, please phone Jackie on 0785 760 4365 for more information about Charlie. Please then fill out an Adoption Form as fully as possible with all your details.
